More than 240 guests from across the county joined MYTIME Young Carers last month for the charity’s 10th anniversary ball.
Together with headline sponsor Frettens Solicitors, they managed to exceed all expectations and raise more than £20,000.
That money will help fund MYTIME’s Operation Christmas campaign, which sees the team delivering 1300 Christmas bags and bringing festive joy to young carers in Dorset and the Isle of Wight.
The event kicked off with a red-carpet entrance and welcome drinks, followed by an opening speech from charity CEO Krista Sharp.
Krista was then joined by JLS star and young carer ambassador Oritse Williams, as well as leading expert Professor Saul Becker, for a live Q&A session shedding light on the challenges faced by young carers trying to make the most of their childhood.
Between dinner courses, MYTIME Corporate Partnership Executive Tim Sills hosted a game of Play Your Cards Right, while Jimmy Glass led the auction for the evening.
The night ended with some closing remarks from Chair of Trustees Paul Tansey and a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday to celebrate the charity’s 10-year milestone.
MYTIME’s annual ball caps off a busy year of fundraising for the charity, including their inaugural golf day, the Big Beach Clean, and a strong presence at the Run Bournemouth 10k.
This year also saw the charity win a major £70,000 through The National Lottery’s Peoples Project.
It all helps to raise awareness for the plight of young carers across Dorset and beyond, alongside close collaboration with local businesses and schools.
