Frettens Solicitors has achieved standout results in the 2024/25 Legal 500 rankings, with all of its eligible departments now recommended in the prestigious legal guide.

This marks a significant improvement from the firm’s 2023 results, highlighting the firm’s ongoing dedication to excellence in client service and casework.

More departments recognised than ever before

This year’s rankings saw Frettens recognised across a record number of departments, including:

  • Commercial Litigation
  • Commercial Property
  • Contentious Trusts & Probate
  • Employment
  • Corporate & Commercial
  • Social Housing
  • Family
  • Insolvency & Corporate Recovery
  • Personal tax, trusts & probate

Managing Partner, Matthew Fretten, celebrates the ‘huge’ success

Managing Partner Matthew Fretten praised the firm’s achievements, saying: “To have all eligible departments recommended in this year’s Legal 500 is fantastic, and we are so pleased to have improved on our results from 2023.”

Matthew also emphasised the importance of client feedback: “Client feedback is so important to us, as it allows us to reflect, review and improve our services. This latest recommendation from the Legal 500, based on such client feedback, is a testament to the hard work we’ve put in over this past year. Thank you to our wonderful clients who provided such glowing testimonials!”

Over 16 staff members recommended

The firm also received personal accolades for more than 16 of its staff. In the Commercial Litigation team, Michelle Hayter, Anna Curtis, and Olivia Parkinson were recognised for their clear, accurate advice and attention to detail, with Michelle also recommended for her work in Contentious Probate.

In Commercial Property, Oonagh McKinney, Ben Cobb, Sarah Heath, Hannah Martin, and Patsy Whitford were praised for being a ‘safe pair of hands’, especially following a year of large-scale transactions. Ben and Oonagh also gained recognition for their contributions to Social Housing.

Karen Edwards and Matthew Fretten from the Corporate & Commercial team were once again commended for their ‘excellent’ and ‘invaluable’ advice.

Meanwhile, in Employment, Michelle Kemp, who joined Frettens in 2023, was recognised for her ‘client-focused approach’, along with colleague Chris Dobbs. And in Insolvency, Malcolm Niekirk earned the firm a ‘firm to watch’ accolade.

Personal services team recognised

On the personal services front, the Wills & Tax and Family teams also earned commendations. James Hammersley was noted for his ‘professional’ and ‘efficient’ service, while Andrew Stynes, Simon Immins, and their team were praised for being a ‘busy and thriving department’ that serves the local community.

Continuing growth at Frettens

Reflecting on the recognition of his team, Matthew said: “We’re proud to see that so many members of staff have been recommended in this year’s results, some for the first time. Their recognition speaks to the hard work they have put in over this past year. They are all thoroughly deserving of their placement.”

Frettens is currently experiencing an exciting period of growth, with a range of career opportunities available. The firm encourages ambitious individuals to explore vacancies in their careers section, or to reach out if they’re interested in joining a dynamic team.
