Amanda & Nick launch digital platform for users to share life stories & funeral wishes with loved ones

Amanda and Nick Eames from Bournemouth have launched an innovative new website to help keep legacies alive.

BeyondMe logoBeyondMe allows users to create a private online profile where they can share life stories, messages and funeral wishes with loved ones – all of which ‘come to life’ upon their passing.

The idea for the platform came to Amanda when organising some papers as a solution to the emotional and logistical challenges of end-of-life preparations.

Amanda Eames“The sheer amount of paperwork got me thinking about how useful it would be if there was a platform where you could write your own life story, in as little or as much detail as you like, that would really benefit someone who was trying to put together a eulogy”, she said.

“The more I thought about it, I thought how nice it would be to have a dedicated page about someone who has died that the rest of the world could see – and the idea of BeyondMe was born.”

She enlisted the help of Poole-based digital agency b4b to develop a discreet and secure platform for users.

Once logged in, they’re able to confirm preferences for their funeral, alleviating the burden on family and friends as they negotiate with funeral directors.

“Discussing these matters can be difficult”, said Amanda.

“So BeyondMe aims to make this process easier, offering a dedicated, private account where you can outline every detail – ensuring your final wishes are honoured.”

The platform allows users to schedule pre-set voice and electronic messages to be delivered to chosen friends and family members on specific future dates.

They can also add a donation button to their profile, giving visitors the option to support their chosen charities.

b4b marketing logoWith BeyondMe now up and running, Amanda and the b4b team are keen to expand the site both nationally and internationally.

“I want BeyondMe to become the biggest social media platform for the afterlife”, Amanda added.

“We’re looking to add more exciting features to it over the next eighteen months.

“As we grow the website, we’ll be looking at other ways to work with charities locally, nationally and internationally and our focus will be looking at ways to make a positive impact.”
