Bournemouth Pier kicks off festive calendar with Xmas tree trail, visits from Santa and more

Starting today (Friday), Bournemouth Pier is inviting locals to get involved in its busy Christmas calendar of events and attractions.

The Christmas tree trail is now open, with 60 eight-foot trees lining the pier along with a festive-themed quiz.

There’s also a ‘letters to Santa’ post box for the children and a food and drink kiosk serving up seasonal treats like mince pies, mulled wine and festive hot dogs.

Plus, RockReef and PierZip will be open daily from 21 December to 5 January for festive fun.

Over at Key West, there are several more attractions planned for December.

Breakfast with Santa will run from 14 to 23 December as Santa visits Key West to personally greet children over pre-booked festive breakfasts.

On Saturday 21 December, Key West will host Scrooge: ‘A Grave Tale of Things Yet to Come’ – a three-course dining event inspired by A Christmas Carol, complete with a two-hour interactive show.

And on Monday 23 December, parents needing to do a little last-minute shopping can drop off their kids for a festive session at the Christmas Drop ‘n Go.

Key West will also host Christmas parties throughout November and December.

Local residents can enjoy savings on many of these attractions with the newly launched Pier Perks card – see our previous story for more on that.
