As part of its Communi-Tea initiative, Dorset Tea joined the team at In Jolly Good Company for their Step Outside Garden Group as part of a ‘Cream Tea Friday’ event at the Kitchen Gardens allotments in Kingston Lacey, providing a selection of teas.

Sarah Rampton, Director at In Jolly Good Company, said: “This was a wonderful opportunity for us to put on an event and thank our volunteers and guests.

“I can’t think of anything better than bringing people down to the allotments for some delicious Dorset Tea and amazing cream teas from All Hallows Farmhouse Cookery School. It is the perfect way to spend an afternoon.”

In Jolly Good Company is a not-for-profit organisation that plays an important role in helping to improve people’s physical and mental health, offering indoor and outdoor sessions that encourage people to stay physically and mentally active.

“One of these activities is the ‘Step Outside’ gardening group, which is a collaborative project between Wimborne Dementia Friendly Community, National Trust, Dorset Council, and In Jolly Good Company.

The ‘Step Outside’ gardening group sessions are held every 2nd and 4th Friday afternoon at Kingston Lacy allotments, and each is 2 hours long. Activities include gardening, relaxing, chatting and catching up, cutting flowers, harvesting, walking, and arts and crafts.

The group meets from March to October, with volunteers caring for the allotment over the winter months.

Lauren Forecast from Dorset Tea said: “Initiatives like In Jolly Good Company play such a vital role in bringing people together and offering them a chance to be active, both mentally and physically.

“Events like this are exactly what Dorset Tea represents and we are proud that we can work with such amazing people as part of our Communi-Tea initiative.”

Lisa Osman from All Hallows Farmhouse added: “The amazing team from ‘In Jolly Good Company’ have created an enriching environment within the ‘Step Outside Group’ hosted at National Trust Kingston Lacy Allotments.

“We are proud to offer our support to this much needed Dorset organisation and personally look forward to our visits to the garden. Not only do we recognise the benefit of spending time with such a positive force and caring group, but it is also clear that the guests relish the time spent gardening and chatting over tea and cake.”
