The weather may be gloomy outside but thoughts have already turned to next year and the return of summer.

Tickets have gone on sale for The British Beach Polo Championships in Poole in July 2023.

Also known as Sandpolo, the annual event takes place on Friday and Saturday July 7 and 8 on the Blue Flag beach in Sandbanks.

Up to 8,000 spectators flock to the location over the weekend to enjoy the display of fast-paced stadium polo as well as feasting and extravagant parties.

The Friday after-party ‘Boogie on the Beach’ and Saturday’s ‘Closing Party’ promise to pack the dancefloor as usual.

This year’s Sandpolo event marked the event’s 15th anniversary.

Founder Johnny Wheeler, pictured left, said a survey of ticket-holders had attracted “incredibly favourable” feedback but  there was always room for improvement.

He said: “It is such a privilege to bring Sandpolo to Sandbanks.

“After so many years, it is a credit to the BCP Council, the Sandpolo team and the many local contractors, suppliers and facilitators.

“Obviously, we couldn’t do it without our loyal supporters who come year on year to enjoy Sandbanks beach at its best.

“The survey provided incredibly favourable feedback but you can always make improvements.

“I’m really excited at bringing an even bigger and better Sandpolo to Sandbanks next year.”

Tickets are available on the Sandpolo website at sandpolo.com.
