Chartered Accountants, Saffery and Handelsbanken hosted a bowling event at the Argyll Bowling Club on the West Overcliff in Bournemouth.

While the weather wasn’t playing ball, that didn’t stop the businesses, who came together to enjoy the camaraderie of a bowling contest and the opportunity to network and stay connected.

Everyone was put into teams and given tips by the Argyll Club officials.  They were taught how to hold the wood and ‘not to bowl at the Jack but to bowl to the outside.’

Saffery Partner Hannah Mazrae said, “It was brilliant to bring the local business network together.  No one was going to allow the great British summer weather to put us off, and despite the constant rain we all had a brilliant and fun afternoon.

“We would like to thank the Argyll Bowling Club for their hospitality, allowing us to use their facilities and assisting us with our bowling, we all learnt a lot, including that the Umpire is always right!”

Handelsbanken Branch Manager Alex Newey added, “After the bowling we were all treated to a cream tea and prosecco, a perfect way to end the day! Huge thanks to everyone who braved the weather and came along – we really appreciate it. Also, a big thanks to the team at Saffery and Handelsbanken for organising the event.”
