Bournemouth accountancy firm Saffery has been spreading festive joy – by giving presents to local children who wouldn’t normally receive a gift.
The south coast -based business has also donated to Dorset based charity Prama Care.
The firm said 40 members of the team have donated new gifts, which will be distributed by the local council to children in the community.
“It’s a wonderful gesture from our staff who recognise that the spirit of Christmas is about giving and supporting our local community,” said partner Hannah Mazrae.
“Saffery Bournemouth have also made a cash donation to PramaCare, a charity which supports independent living, allowing their clients to live with dignity in the comfort of their own homes.”
It is the second year in a row staff that Saffery in Bournemouth have swapped their usual festive initiative and instead decided to make a difference.
“The decision to donate was made in lieu of purchasing advent calendars for staff in our office, a decision that was very much welcomed by all. It’s good to be able to give back to the community,” added Mazrae.
Last month, it was Saffery staff themselves who received a treat when the Bournemouth office was given a special preview of next year’s ‘Stampede by the Sea’ when they were visited by one of the baby elephants set to feature in the annual art trail.
The community art project in aid of Weldmar Hospicecare, will see 30 artist-designed elephant statues take over Bridport, West Bay and Lyme Regis from March 28 to May 27 next year.
