The event was a sell-out success, as the Poole Property Club BCP moves in to its second year and was attended by a diverse mix of businesses and professionals who came together to discuss improving sustainability in the sector.

There was a panel of notable speakers, which was hosted by Poole Property Club Founders Keeley Fox and Heidi Munro.

Speakers included Darren Frias-Robes from Whitefox Chartered Surveyors, David Thomas, Vail Willaims, Xenia Kaldy, Ridge, Thomas Leach, Sol Acoustics, Adam Walker, Foundry, Robert Speirs, Stepnell, Lee Merryfield, MSP Capital and Richard Summers, Boyle & Summers.

Topics covered included;

  • Changes to building regulations and how they have impacted acoustic design
  • Advice around Energy Performance Certificates
  • The importance of embodied carbon and what type of buildings would benefit this most
  • Influencing improvements in sustainable construction whilst meeting the clients budget
  • Obtaining funding for sustainable projects

Whitefox MD, Darren Frias- Robles said: “It was a very productive morning with some great insights learnt by all.

“It was good to share Whitefox experiences of retrofit & sustainable solutions in our refurbishment projects which include Bobby’s Department Store, Rockwater Sandbanks, Weymouth Brewery and many more.

“We enjoyed sharing our first-hand experience of finding cost effective solutions that enhance the energy performances of a building.”

Poole Property Club founder, Keeley Fox concluded, “We were delighted that our first panel event was a resounding success and we are honoured to be connected to so many knowledgeable business leaders; and were able to share information on both the current sustainability hot topics, plus delve in to the considerations for the future.

“We thoroughly enjoyed and valued Darren’s contribution to the panel discussion and we are very much looking forward to creating another panel event next year.”
