It may have been delayed by 12 months but – Covid restrictions permitting – that means this year’s party looks set to be even bigger and better.
Tribeca Events has partnered with Sandpolo to curate and promote the night entertainment at the Sandbanks event on Friday July 9 and Saturday July 10 for the first time.
More than 6,000 guests will be attending over the two days with The Real Thing – the most successful soul act in England in the 1970s – headlining on Friday’s Boogie on the Beach.
Tickets are sold out for the 7pm to 1am event which also features Jaz Ellington, Gipsy Kings ‘Bamboleo’, Shola Ama and local DJs Jay Rachet, Mike ‘Arty’ Artwell, Martyn the Hat and Paul Brady.
However, a small allocation of tickets – less than ten per cent – is still available for Saturday’s GOLD Eighties Ocean Party featuring Martin Kemp, formerly with Spandau Ballet, as star guest DJ.
The group became one of the most successful of the New Romantic era of British pop.
They were part of the second British invasion of the Billboard Top 40 in the 1980s, selling 25 million albums and having 23 hit singles worldwide.
The band have had eight UK top 10 albums, including three greatest hits compilations and an album of re-recorded material.
The song ‘Gold’ was Spandau Ballet’s second-highest charting single in both the UK and the USA, behind their previous release, ‘True’.
Also on the bill with Martin Kemp is nine-piece soul, funk, and Motown band Wonderband; star of The Voice and Will I Am’s star man, Moni Tivony; international percussionist Milesy Havana and DJs Mike ‘Arty’ Artwell, TJ Byham, DJ Tomsy and Jay Rachet.
Joshua Simons, pictured left, of Tribeca Events and GOLD Eighties Ocean Party Promoter, said: “Tribeca Events is delighted to have partnered with Sandpolo this year to develop the concepts and programme the live entertainment on both evenings.
“A host of international quality artists will entertain guests, offering a fitting end to an action-packed afternoon of Sandpolo on one of the world’s most famous beaches.
“We look forward to welcoming everyone in 2021 after what has been an unsettling 2020, to say the least, but don’t delay because we only have limited tickets available for Saturday July 10.”
