Persimmon South West has generously contributed £1,000 to the Sherborne Food Bank as part of its Community Champions initiative.

The donation was officially handed over during a visit by Rob Clark, Land & Planning Director for Persimmon South West, to the Food Bank’s depot at South Western Business Park.

Rob Clark presented the cheque to Sally Baxter, Depot Manager, and David Kemp, Chair of Trustees, to aid the Food Bank’s mission of providing emergency food deliveries across a 78 square mile area surrounding Sherborne.

The Sherborne Food Bank is a vital resource for the community, combating food poverty and hunger by delivering essential supplies to families and individuals in need. David Kemp expressed his appreciation for the donation, highlighting its importance for their operations.

“This is enormously helpful to ensure that the weekly delivery of food to those in need can be reliably achieved by our volunteer teams,” David said.

“We benefit greatly from the generosity of individuals, businesses, groups, churches, and schools, and this welcome donation from Persimmon Homes will support our ongoing work in the local community.”

Rob Clark echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the company’s commitment to supporting local communities.

“We are very pleased to support the Sherborne Food Bank in their vital work. We hope this donation will help ensure that families and individuals in need receive necessary food and support during difficult times,” Rob said.

The Sherborne Food Bank operates thanks to the efforts of volunteers who collect food from donation points, sort it at the depot, pick and pack parcels, and assist with deliveries and events.
