A popular annual event which has become a highlight of the community calendar returns to Poole Park next month.

Lewis-Manning Hospice Care is hosting its ‘Candles on the Lake’ on Saturday October 19.

The special evening provides a unique opportunity to celebrate, remember and reflect on loved ones in a serene and beautiful setting.

Everyone  is invited to attend the event.

Participants can dedicate a message on a candle that will be floated on the park’s small lake, creating a magical and moving display of light and love.

There will be musical performances from the Boscombe Salvation Army Bandwhile The Funky Little Choir will set a reflective and heartwarming tone for the evening.

Light refreshments will be available.

Anna DuRose, Lewis-Manning Hospice Care’s Events Fundraiser, said: “We are delighted to bring our amazing ‘Candles on the Lake’ event back to Poole Park for the seventh year, and we are pleased to share that this year, we will be returning to the small lake near The Ark.

“This wonderful event offers local people the opportunity to come together to reflect, celebrate, and remember their loved ones by writing a personal dedication on our popular candle boxes, which will be floated in a mesmerising display.

“Funds raised from our event will enable us to continue offering our Bereavement and Family Support services to local people in our community.

“A suggested donation of £6 per candle will directly support Lewis-Manning’s Bereavement and Family Support services, ensuring the continuation of vital support to those in need within the community.

“Special thanks to our headline sponsor, Care South, for supporting our event for yet another year and new sponsor Ives & Shand Funeral service.

“We’d also like to express thanks too for support from South Coast Mini Marquees, The Funky Little Choir, Boscombe Salvation Army Band, Crew Consult First Aid , Abbas Cabins (TBC), Rockley Water Sports and One Nine 58 Coffee Van.”

Lewis-Manning Hospice Care will also be hosting ‘Candles by the Sea’ at the Bandstand in Swanage on October 26 and ‘Candles on the Green’ at Wimborne Minster on November 16.

Anyone wishing to take part is urged to pre order a candle at https://lewis-manning.org.uk/candles/

Candles will also be available to purchase on the evening of the event.
