Tom Parsons, Founder of Poole-based Aetha Design, has been named as a judge at next year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

In the world of tech events, there are few bigger than CES.

Held annually in Las Vegas, it offers brands the chance to show off the next generation of their technologies, attracting some of the best known brands in the world, as well as offering startups the chance to launch new innovations.

Last year, CES featured everything from AI controlled baby strollers to a colour-changing car from BMW. 130,000 people are expected to attend in 2024, with more than 3,500 exhibitors.

Tom set up Aetha Design in 2018, drawing on his time studying Product Design at Bournemouth University and then working for Dyson, where he developed products including house-cleaning robots as well as others too secret to be mentioned.

Aetha Design is a product design consultancy which takes products from concept to manufacture with a history of working with international brands such as Osprey Packs as well as the local artist Stuart Semple.

In this time, they’ve worked on everything from sustainable drinks bottles to AI-powered digital cameras.

“I am incredibly proud to have been selected as a judge for the 2024 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas,” Tom said.

“This year a record number of 3,000 people applied for the role.

“The full list of judges has now been announced and I’m joined by people from all over the world from companies such as Microsoft, Meta, Google, Amazon and the BBC.

“This is an unbelievable opportunity to represent our small design agency based on Poole Quay on the world stage.”
