A new-look business association is reporting an “amazing response” after undergoing a revamp and rebrand.

With the support of Bournemouth Chamber of Trade & Commerce (BCTC), Kinson’s trading district has joined forces with businesses in neighbouring Northbourne.

Previously known as Kinson Business Forum it’s now become BH10 & 11 Business Association.

BCTC was awarded a one-off grant to initiate the revamp as part of the government’s initiative to support the High Street post-Covid.

Jacqui Rock, BCTC President, said: “We have had enormous success in creating trading districts in Wallisdown and combining Moordown and Winton as BH9 Business Community.

“Over the past few years, Kinson has seen a real growth in new businesses opening.

“In fact, the high street is at 100 per cent capacity which is a fantastic achievement.

“It’s an extremely exciting time for the area and the businesses located there.”

He said: “We have had an amazing response to the revamp.

“I urge businesses in the BH10 & 11 area to get involved in this initiative by supporting the role of BCTC and joining us to develop our community of like-minded businesses and professionals, all based in the same geographical area.”

Wendy King, BCTC Trade Group Liaison Officer, added: “Kinson has a fantastic community spirit and that was evident when chatting to businesses in the area.

“They have a wealth of historic heritage in the area and that should be known by residents and visitors alike.”

BCTC was founded in 1916 by a group of small business entrepreneurs.

Its membership now ranges from sole proprietorships to locally owned independent businesses as well as major institutions and organisations.
