Breeze Motor Group is in safe hands with Bridge Health & Wellbeing

Bridge Health & Wellbeing has been chosen by Breeze Motor Group to support its new staff wellbeing plan.

Mark Langford, Breeze’s Managing Director, said: “As a major local employer, we want to offer a best-in-class employee experience and we know that means supporting our staff with their health and wellbeing.

“Through our new wellbeing plan, all employees will be able to access support from Bridge Health & Wellbeing, as well as a range of other services to support both their physical and mental health.

“When we welcome a new employee to Breeze, they become part of the family.

“We work hard to achieve our business goals but also recognise the importance of having fun along the way.

“Having happy and healthy staff means we can ensure our customers have the best possible experience everytime they visit us.”

Paul O’Connell, Lead physiotherapist and Co-founder of Christchurch-based Bridge Health & Wellbeing, said: “Mark and I met at a Dorset Chamber event and I was pleased to hear him talk passionately about supporting his staff.

“As partners for their employee wellbeing programme, we will be providing physiotherapy assessment and follow-up for any members of staff that need it.

“Over the coming months, we hope to add sports massage services and then, potentially Pilates, yoga and other wellbeing classes on-site, depending on staff demand.

“Health and wellbeing at work are vitally important.

“As an employer, you want your staff to be engaged, productive, happy and, most importantly, healthy.

“We work with businesses across Dorset to improve sickness rates, support people in work, improve productivity and demonstrate how much companies care about their most important asset – their people.”

Breeze opened its first Volkswagen passenger car showroom in 2000.

The company has grown to include Volkswagen Van Centres in Poole, Southampton and Portsmouth, Coastal Car Sales in Poole and Bournemouth TPS.

Last month it opened its first Breeze Suzuki dealership in Poole.

DP Seals signs up for Make It Net Zero campaign

DP Seals, the Poole-based manufacturer of custom rubber seals, gaskets and mouldings, has become the first company in Dorset to sign up to the Make it Net Zero programme.

The initiative is organised by SWMAS which has a mission to help transform south west manufacturers into world class businesses.

It is a partner in the United Nations Race to Net Zero campaign.

As a signatory member, DP Seals has committed to:

  1. Achieve Net Zero no later than 2050 and target a 50 per cent reduction in emissions by 2030
  2. Set realistic short and long term targets that are designed to achieve Net Zero commitments
  3. Report the total greenhouse gas emissions of the business regularly and for its performance to be part of the annual reporting back to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)

Following its pledge to Race to Zero via the Network Net Zero Community, the first step was the production of an initial report highlighting areas for further exploration and improvement.

Now, with detailed technical advice and support, DP Seals will work together with SWMAS to deliver on its commitment.

Andrew Piper, Managing Director, DP Seals, pictured left, said: “I’m proud that DP Seals can play its part in helping protect our environment and reduce our impact on the climate.

“This will be challenging for our business so it’s great to have the support of SWMAS to provide us with the expertise we’ll need to support us on this journey.”

Fizz and fun marks care home’s first anniversary

Celebrations were held to mark a Poole care home’s first year serving the community since opening its doors in March 2021.

Staff and residents at Upton Bay Care Home in Hamworthy celebrated the occasion with bottles of ‘Nosecco’, the alcohol free alternative to prosecco, ensuring even staff on shift could join the jubilations.

“I was one of the first to move in last year,” said resident Barbara Gibbs, pictured, centre, with fellow residents Margaret Gardner and Evelyn Langford.

“I’ve had a lot of fun  and made some friends for life.”

Mevin Sohorye, General Manager, pictured left, said: “Our first anniversary marks a whole year of exceptional care from our dedicated team, as well as building lasting relationships within the Hamworthy community.

“We extend a huge thank you to our residents, their families, and of course, our dedicated staff, who bring compassion, comfort and love to Upton Bay every day.

“We look forward to many more happy years, welcoming new residents through our doors each week, and making a positive difference to our local area.”

Over the past 12 months, Upton Bay has had an active presence within the Poole community, adopting a ‘think local’ approach to fundraising for charities such as Caring Canines and the Turlin Moor food bank.

Upton Bay provides residential, respite, and dementia care for 68 residents.

It’s part of Barchester Healthcare.
