Mayor and Mayoress guests of honour at 15th anniversary party

The Mayor and Mayoress of Poole were guests of honour at celebrations to mark the 15th anniversary of Pennant House.

Based in Spur Hill Avenue, the property, which is managed by Abbeyfield Wessex, offers independent retirement living accommodation.

Cllr Tony Trent, and his wife Anne, met residents, guests and staff during their visit and cut a celebratory cake.

A former Abbeyfield volunteer, William Mutlow, gave a presentation on the history of Pennant House – including the name origins.

Judge David Pennant was an original trustee and part of the first meeting in November 1966 to discuss the purchase of a house specifically for retired people to live as part of a community, but independently.

Vanessa Booker-Card, CEO of Abbeyfield Wessex, said: “We are proud of all our houses based in Poole, Westbourne, Ferndown, Wimborne and Romsey providing independent living for retired people as well as, once again, opening our doors to our local communities for lunch clubs, arts and crafts afternoons and coffee mornings.

“Community is at the heart of what we do and offer and our residents are important to our story as we continue to grow across Dorset.”

Thanks were expressed to Denise Lomas, Pennant’s House Manager, and her team for hosting an enjoyable afternoon and continuing to help residents and local communities to thrive.

Key team members in place ahead of US launch

Dorset-based health business Simone Thomas Wellness has confirmed three key team members ahead of its launch in America.

With growth continuing month-on-month, Chris Long, hair stylist to the celebrity world, pictured left, has been brought on board,.

Aleksandra Boruch has stepped into an advisory role for the NutriHome arm of the business, reflecting the holistic direction the brand is taking.

Meanwhile, Director of Global PR and Communications, Natalie Trice, pictured right, is keeping messaging on track and maintaining media visibility.

The team news came as Simone Thomas Wellness celebrated another industry award.

Celebrity judges Jo Wood, Glynis Barber and Carrie Grant agreed its SkinQuencher product packed an anti-ageing punch in the menopause category of the Janey Loves 2022 Platinum Awards.

The win came a month after the Simone Thomas Wellness Everyday Wellness supplement was named as the best pregnancy supplement by the Independent in August.

It’s hoped the products will be just as successful when they are launched stateside next month.

Simone Thomas, pictured, Founder of Simone Thomas Wellness, said: “There is no doubt we are operating in a crowded marketplace and in some of the most challenging economic conditions in recent times.

“More and more women are coming to us to find natural ways to enhance and improve their health.

“For SkinQuencher to secure the menopause seal of approval with a Janey Loves 2022 Platinum Award is incredible.

“We can’t afford to rest on our laurels, so I am excited that Chris, Aleksandra and Natalie, three experts in their fields, are now on board and part of the team.

“As well as launching in the US, we have two further products in final development stages.”

“We can still see strong demand for small industrial/warehouse premises in and around the surrounding area.”

  • Assisting Baccello with the letting of 72 High Street in Christchurch town centre.

It offers a wide variety of Italian wines and accompanying fresh cicchetti.

brand.

“We were kindly invited to their opening night where we were able to sample some of their great offerings and learn more about their background.

“This is another great addition to the improving food and beverage scene in Christchurch Town Centre and we look forward to the opening of another nearby offering in the coming months.”
