Bournemouth-based B Corp Organix is preparing to carry out its next beach clean on the 10th July.
The children’s food manufacturer will be helping to clean some of the 2,000 tonnes of waste which BCP Council reports finding on the beach each year.
The clean up comes as the town readies itself for summertime visitors, with tourists and locals alike already eagerly planning trips.
According to Google Trends, searches for “Bournemouth Beach weather” has seen sharp rises over each June weekend, as more people look to spend their time off on the sandy shores.
This beach clean is one of many Organix has carried out over its 30-year history, with initiatives such as this helping to secure its B Corp certification in 2022.
The latest effort aligns with the company’s plans for Plastic Free July – the global movement encouraging all to reduce their plastic waste in an effort to clean up streets, oceans and communities.
