Bournemouth’s new commercial radio station hits the airwaves

Bournemouth One, the new commercial radio station, is now live.

The station features non-stop music sequences and a team of journalists providing updates on local news, weather, traffic, sport, what’s on and notices every 20 minutes.

Foregoing DJs and presenters, Bournemouth One announcers Glen Hunt, Lorna Child and David Harber bringing these locally-focused elements with a short 20/20 update at 20 past and 20 to the hour along with a local news bulletin each hour.

News Editor Andy Diprose, supported by a team of journalists, is on duty from 6am each morning providing updates.

Broadcaster Glen Hunt, who has worked on radio stations including Heart and BBC Local, is on each morning. He’s also part of the Most Haunted television programme team, as the Open Minded Sceptic.

Local author and podcaster Lorna Child takes over in the afternoon, helping to keep the news and information flowing between midday and 6pm. Lorna has also been heard most recently on Hot Radio in Poole.

David Harber, who co-founded Bournemouth’s Fire Radio (now part of the national Hits Radio network), is on each evening introducing updates into the night.

Lorna said: “I’m absolutely thrilled and super excited to be the voice of afternoons, working alongside such talented people on a fantastic new radio station for the area.”

As a commercial station, advertising and sponsorship packages are available with Bournemouth One already welcoming on board partners including PRC Streamline Taxis, Bournemouth Pier, SnowTrax and Box Balloons.

Bournemouth One is now available via online platforms including Alexa smart speakers, iPhone and Android apps, TuneIn and the website at https://www.bournemouthone.com/
