Deb Forsyth has driven her way to success by being named Employee of the Year by Morebus.

Praised for her happy and buoyant disposition, Deb is a favourite among those travelling on buses across the area.

She was presented with her award at the company’s annual ceremony, by Andrew Wickham, Managing Director.

He said: “Deb joined us in January 2020 and often works on the late rota.

“Our regular customers recognise her and are always pleased to see if she is driving their bus – always greeting her with a wave and a smile.

“A kind and caring person, Deb is always looking out for others.

“One example of this is an event that occurred on New Year’s Eve.

“Whilst driving her bus, Deb noticed a young lad out on his own who seemed very upset.

“It was the early hours of the morning and he was in tears trying to find his grandparents’ house.

“Her only thought was to ensure he was safe and, although he was distraught at the thought of the police becoming involved, she gained his trust and liaised with our control room to ensure the police were waiting and able to escort him to safety once the bus arrived at Bournemouth Square.

“Her kind and caring approach made all the difference, and is just one of the reasons we’ve named her Employee of the Year.

“This award is richly deserved.

“I would like to congratulate Deb and wish her a successful year ahead.”

In recognition of her efforts, Deb received £500 worth of vouchers and a framed certificate.
