Sunglasses brand Times Eyewear has partnered with Bournemouth Foodbank to help raise money for its Christmas Crowdfunder campaign.

The business, which makes adventure sunglasses for athletes, cyclists and sportspeople, is hosting a challenge on the Strava mobile app for runners to cover 100km between 1 and 31 December.

It’s organised the promotion in partnership with Sole Clinic running club.

Times Eyewear will also be donating five per cent of the value of every order to Bournemouth Foodbank for the rest of the month.

Since April, the charity has provided more than 49,000 meals – almost 11,000 of those going to children.

The Christmas Crowdfunder will raise funds for food parcels filled with essential items to help local families enjoy nutritious meals during the holidays.

Money will also go towards warehousing and distribution.

Founded by designer Tom Parsons and photographer Jamie James, Times uses a patent pending strap for its sunglasses instead of the usual side arms, making them perfect for sports.

The glasses are made in Italy from bio acetate, then hand-built and shipped from the company’s Poole HQ.

Tom also heads up Poole agency Aetha Design and was recently chosen as a judge for next year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
