Two of Dorset’s best-known entrepreneurs will be sharing a stage today, November 14.

Alex Chisnall, Founder, Screw It, Just Do It.

Alex Chisnall, Founder of the Screw It Just Do It podcast – listened to in 180+ countries worldwide and in the top one per cent of all podcasts globally – is chatting to Jim Cregan, Co-Founder of Jimmy’s Iced Coffee.

The live recording event, from 6pm to 8.30pm, is at the Foundry in the Foundry Space, The Dolphin, Poole.

Tickets are free to the first 100 and include complimentary Jimmy’s Iced Coffee as well as draught beer, cider, wine and non-alcoholic drinks.

Jim will be sharing how he went from working on a building site in Dorset, back in 2010, to launching, scaling and then selling the iced coffee brand earlier this year to drinks giant, Britvic plc.

Alex started hosting live events for local entrepreneurs in 2016 under the Virgin StartUp banner – Sir Richard Branson’s not-for-profit venture helping fund, mentor and support UK entrepreneurs.

Fifty people attended the first event which was held at Jimmy’s Iced Coffee headquarters in Christchurch.

Since then Alex has gone on to host events from Manchester to Brighton for thousands of people a year.

He has also brought speakers such as Dragon’s Den star Piers Linney and reality TV star and Candy Kittens founder Jamie Laing to Bournemouth.

Alex said: “If someone had told me at that first event that we would go on to launch a podcast that is listened to in over 180 countries and that we would have hosted events all over the UK for thousands of people, I wouldn’t have believed you.

“It’s been an awesome journey and it all started at Jimmy’s Iced Coffee HQ when Jim kindly hosted my first ever live event.

“I’d like to bring it full circle by inviting Jim to chat about the journey he’s been on that ultimately led to him selling his business this year.

“I can even remember Jim’s mum and dad had been to Waitrose and generously fed and watered everyone who attended my first event out of their own pockets.

“This time we’ll have free drinks and networking provided by the Foundry in Poole, where I am an ambassador.”

Alex founded his podcast in 2017.

His first guest was Steven Bartlett, now known to millions for his appearances on Dragon’s Den.

There have now been 550 episodes of the podcast.
