Bournemouth’s Savvy Navvy has appointed Keith Binley to its board as the boating navigation app continues to scale up.
A longtime investor in the company and avid yacht master, Keith brings more than two decades of experience in the data and technology sectors to his new role as non-executive director.
He’s founded and led successful businesses including LexisNexis Risk Solutions and Metro Bank.
Jelte Liebrand, founder and CEO of Savvy Navvy, said: “With a track record of leading high-growth tech startups, we’re super excited for Keith to join our board.
“He has from early on seen Savvy Navvy’s potential, joining as one of our first investors.
“As we continue our ambitious growth plans, Keith’s experience is perfectly placed in our board to help us continue to scale.”
Today, Keith heads up JDV Coaching, which among other things leverages AI and helps implement enterprise governance for small, growing businesses.
He replaces Thomas Cape, who stepped down from the board earlier this month.
Keith added: “Having seen first-hand the innovation and dedication driving savvy navvy forward, I’m thrilled to be appointed their non-executive director.
“This year already, Savvy Navvy has set up a global distributor network, further increasing app sales as we continue to challenge the bigger navigation solutions in the global market.
“I’m thrilled to be part of their next phase of growth.”
Dubbed ‘Google Maps for boats’, Savvy Navvy won Tech SME of the Year at this year’s South Coast Tech & Innovation Awards, hosted by The Business Magazine.
