THE NICI prepares to launch its second restaurant, Old Harry Rocks

THE NICI is getting ready to launch its second restaurant this June.

Set on the Westcliffe, overlooking Bournemouth’s sandy shores and with views of the Purbecks, Old Harry Rocks Bar & Restaurant is a new casual dining spot at the Bournemouth hotel.

The new hangout for foodies and seaside revellers is expected to create more than 50 jobs, as well as further enhancing the hotel’s offering.

Lukasz Dwornik, Managing Director for THE NICI, said: “We are delighted to be opening our second restaurant, driving further tourism to the area, whilst providing a relaxed beachside restaurant for locals to enjoy on our iconic coastline.”

Diners at Old Harry Rocks can expect rustic-luxe interiors and a laid-back atmosphere, reminiscent of Mediterranean island hot spots.

Brand Director for THE NICI, Anthony Rudolph said: “Much like THE NICI hotel, our aim is to draw on international inspiration to create a feeling of relaxed escapism – with warm woods, terrazzo tile floors, and woven pendant lighting creating an inviting rustic vibe.”

At the heart of the 120-cover restaurant will be a striking statement fireplace, enveloped by relaxed seating, where guests can enjoy cocktails. A dual aspect bar will serve up drinks to both the restaurant and poolside residents – as they kick back in a cabana.

Expansive glass bi-fold doors blur the line between indoors and out, extending the atmosphere onto a sprawling terrace, ideal for leisurely lunches and sundowners overlooking the views. Come winter, the space transforms into a cosy haven.

Menus showcase informal, sumptuous seasonal dishes from the ocean or field, with grilled steak and seafood as Old Harry Rocks staples, using locally sourced ingredients. Complemented by an excellent wine list and selection of curated signature sundowner cocktails to match.

Dominic South

Executive Chef Dominic South brings an impressive pedigree to the new concept, having honed his culinary skills at renowned establishments in London, including The Langham and Corinthia.

On the vision for Old Harry Rocks, he said: “Our aim is to provide guests with a chance to unwind in this stunning coastal setting, while enjoying freshly prepared dishes and expertly crafted drinks.”

The debut of Old Harrys Rocks caps off the exciting transformation of THE NICI into a year-round destination resort.

Having first opened to much buzz in summer 2022, the 88-bedroom hotel welcomed a new 30m heated outdoor pool and award-winning spa in summer 2023.

Its South Beach Bar & Restaurant will continue to showcase exceptional seafood, with a wide outdoor terrace for al fresco dining.

This June, the hotel will also unveil a new glass-fronted yoga and activity studio, further enhancing its wellness and family offerings.
