A determined youngster with cerebral palsy has succeeded in raising enough money to turn his wheelchair into a power chair.
Eleven-year-old Jakob Sales, who lives in Wimborne, hit his £2,700 fundraising target in less than two months.
He received the support and encouragement of his local community, friends, family and his school, Allenbourn Middle.
Jakob was also backed by The Dorset Children’s Foundation and The Steve Bernard Foundation.
He has now acquired an electric wheel attachment for his normal wheelchair, making getting around much easier.
Jakob’s mum, Line, said: ‘We are so grateful to everyone who donated.
“The electric wheel will give Jakob newfound independence and enable us to get out and about more as a family.
“This equipment will make a profound difference in enriching Jakob’s life for which we are truly grateful.”
