A Bournemouth company celebrating its 30th birthday hosted a visit by the Women’s Engineering Society (WES).

Family business Motion Control Products has been at the forefront of advanced motion control and automation since 1994.

It describes itself as the one-stop shop for all automation needs, with a strong engineering team.

The company also has a Motion Studio, enhancing its own marketing but also enabling other businesses to elevate their digital presence

The WES visit involved members of the society’s Hants and Dorset Cluster.

Following a health and safety briefing, Daniela Gregova, a Key Account Sales Executive at Motion Control Products (MCP), gave an overview  of the company and products.

She elaborated on how the site, in Francis Avenue, has been invested in over time.

India McKay, Processing Manager, then shared her own development with the company and why so many employees enjoy long careers with the business.

Following introductions from cluster members, guests and MCP employees, attendees enjoyed a site tour.

After taking a celebratory photo the group explored the Motion Studio and took part in diverse discussions and networking

Luke McKay, MCP’s Operations Director, said: “It was a privilege for Motion Control Products to welcome the Women’s Engineering Society cluster.

“As a business, we are committed to supporting and promoting diversity and inclusion across the industry.”

Sharon Jones, Volunteer WES South Coast Cluster Co-ordinator, said: “We’ve been delighted to visit Motion Control Products to understand how they are supporting and developing talented women in technical roles.

“For our members these events are a great way of building a network and broadening understanding of the diverse engineering in the region.”
