A big-hearted company has been praised for its generosity after providing free storage to an award-winning hospice charity.

The move, by Store & Secure Self-Storage, will save Lewis-Manning Hospice Care around £5,000 a year.

Store & Secure is run by sisters Sophie and Lucy Maidman.

Its bright yellow facility in Poole is at Hamworthy, pictured right, and covers 40,000 sq ft.

It is named Joyce House after the sisters’ late mother Joyce Maidman who died two years ago.

Sophie said: “We are delighted to be able to make this gesture to Lewis-Manning Hospice Care.

“We are aware of the incredible work that they do and the difference that this makes to the patients and their families that it supports across Poole, East Dorset and Purbeck.

“After our mother died we were contacted by Lewis-Manning Hospice Care’s Family Support and Bereavement team to see if they could help us.

“This was hugely appreciated by us all.”

Clare Gallie, pictured left, Lewis-Manning Hospice Care’s CEO, said: “The storage being offered to us by Store & Secure will save our charity approximately £5,000 each year.

“We will use the space to store retail shop items, hospice equipment that is needed, but not every day, and also items that we need to legally save.

“It’s a wonderfully generous gesture by Store & Secure and we are hugely grateful.”

Lewis-Manning Hospice Care was named Overall Winner at the 2022 Poole Business Awards.

It also won the Green/Eco awards category.
