Dorwest Herbs, the West Dorset-based herbal pet care brand, has donated £9,000 to support charities in 2023 through the Dorwest Herbs Foundation.
The Foundation was launched as part of the brand’s 70th anniversary celebrations with the aim of committing to ongoing charitable giving.
It helps dogs and cats that are in need of care, health and quality of life improvement as well as supporting dogs that are trained to help humans either in an assistance, rescue or medical capacity.
Dorwest donates to established animal welfare charities on an annual basis through the sales of special foundation products, Keeper’s Mix® & Keeper’s Mix® Sensitive, with 10% of profit from every sale donated.
This year Dorwest were able to continue aid with five more charities, including:
Galgos Del Sol – a licenced charity in both Spain and the UK, rescuing and housing over 300+ dogs in multiple kennel blocks with indoor / outdoor access, running water bowls, and more.
Ferne Animal Sanctuary – rescuing and re-homing animals for over 80 years in the UK, first founded by Nina, Duchess of Hamilton & Brandon at the beginning of the Second World War.
The Pack Project – finding UK homes for stray and abandoned dogs and cats from Romania and reducing the stray population in Romania through neutering programmes.
StreetVet – helping to care for thousands of pets on the street including: dogs, cats, rabbits and ferrets, through: vaccination, microchipping, flea treatment and protection against lungworm, pain relief and helping fight infections, and surgeries.
Pawsome Pensions (NFRSA) – set up to help support retired police dogs from Devon, Dorset & Cornwall Police services and fire dogs from Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue Services.
